Charles Pozzi & the Origins of the Challenge

Continuing its historic commitment to motorsport, Charles Pozzi Ferrari supported the launch of the Ferrari Challenge in Western Europe from the very beginning. Created by Ferrari to allow its passionate clients to compete within an official and prestigious framework, this single-make championship quickly established itself as a showcase of Maranello’s sporting excellence on the track.
The Ferrari Challenge was established in 1993 with the Ferrari 348 Challenge, initially offered as a kit designed to enhance the safety of Ferrari 348 models during track days. In 1995, Ferrari took a further step with the Ferrari 355 Challenge, the first true car specifically developed for the championship, some examples of which were even homologated for road use. Actively involved with its own teams and mechanics, Charles Pozzi contributed to the growth and reputation of the Ferrari Challenge, notably through the titles won by Lucien Guitteny, crowned Ferrari Challenge West Europe Champion in 1994, 1995, and 1996.
